今日は定期講座の様子をお届け。
相変わらずマスク完備の状況下ではありますが、少しずつ人が戻ってきました。
皆さんの表情も、何だかいつもより明るい感じがします。
Today I'll show you my recent Origami class.
As usual we must wear a mask, but members have increased little by little.
And everyone seem to be more cheerful than before.

常連さん、久しぶりの方、お友達を連れてきた方。
メンバーも作品たちも、一段と賑やかな教室となりました。
ということで今回は、お披露目された３種類の作品をピックアップしましょう。
Regulars, guest after a long time, and new friends.
Members & Origami works, both were lively.
I'll pick up some works which they showed me this day!

まず、久しぶりにお越しいただいたケイコさん。
最後にいらしたのがコロナ前ですから、１年半ぶりでしょうか。
メンバーの皆さんからも、熱烈な歓迎を受けていました。
Keiko joined for the first time in one year and a half before COVID.
Members enthusiastically welcomed her!

お持ちいただいたのは、絵柄もフォルムも美しいバラたち！
佐藤ローズは五角形が多いですが、こちらは正方形からできています。
白いものは「美しいバラの折り紙」より「四角のシンプルローズ」のアレンジ。内側に求心中割り折りが盛り込まれています。
ピンクの２種は、Instagramであつみさんから教わったアレンジだそうです。
淡く優しい色とグラデーションが、秋の温かな陽気にぴったりですね。

She brought some Roses.
Each shape & color is beautiful!
Sato roses are usually made of pentagon, but these are made of square.
The white one is that she remodeled "Square simple rose" listed in 2nd textbook of Sato rose. She incorporated "Inside reverse fold" inside.
Two pink ones are Atsumi's works, that she made referring to his Instagram.
Pale & Soft gradation colors suit an Autumn merry.

散りばめられた小さな花々は「花飾りのリース」。
中心のビーズもかわいいですね。
出典は、永田紀子さんの「リース折り紙12か月」です。
花畑に見えるよう、「ヴィヴァルディ Apple green」を背景に撮影させていただきました。

Beads placed in center are also CUTE!!
I took photos against the background of Vivaldi "Apple green", so that they look like a flower garden.

他にもたくさんの作品をお持ちいただいて、みんなにプレゼント（！）していました。
メンバーの皆さんは大喜び。
持ち寄ったお菓子や作品を交換し合う、暖かい教室になりました。
She brought many other works and gave to members as gifts. They were overjoyed!
My class was warm because they were exchanging their origami and sweets each other.

次に、色とりどりの川崎ローズ。
こちらは、ちなちゃんのお友達２人の作品です。
彼らは同じ美術部のメンバーだそうで、時々ちなちゃんからバラの折り方を教わっているんだとか。

Next, colorful Kawasaki Roses.
Two of Chinatsu-chan's friends made them.
They're members of their junior high school's art club, and Chinatsu-chan sometimes teaches them origami rose.

碁盤目のココを基準に、根本から45°で折って、最後まで折らずに◯番目のポイントで止めて…
といった専門的な説明もスルスル理解してくれて、自力でしっかり完成させることができていました。
もう一人の方は、ほとんど何の助言もなしにサクサク作っていた気がします。
ちなちゃんの日頃の教え方がいいのと、ご本人が器用なのと、両方なんでしょうね。
良い写真も撮らせていただき、ご紹介できて嬉しいです。

Using this base point in the grid, fold at 45° angle from the root, and stop at ◯th point without folding to the end...
He could understand these technical explanation, and completed properly by himself.
She was making smoothly without any advise!
Chinatsu-chan is good at teaching, or they're skillful, probably both.
I'm glad that I could introduce them and take nice photos!

それにしても、同じ中学校にバラを折れる人が３人もいるとは、なんて羨ましい環境でしょう！
（もしかして、もっといるのでしょうか？）
Anyway, what a enviable surrounding that there're three players who can make Origami rose in the same junior high school!! (Maybe is there more!?)

ちなちゃんの折り紙布教は、着々と進んでいるようです。

Chinatsu-chan's missionary activity of Origami goes steadily.

最後に、はぁちゃんママ。
安定のカミキィ作品「かぼちゃのはしぶくろ」です。
出典は「カミキィの〈か和いい〉季節のおりがみ」。

Finally, Ha-chan's mom.
"Pumpkin chopstick bag" designed by kamikey.
This model is in her 2nd textbook.

オレンジ、緑、黄色。
カラーのスリットも付いて、とってもおしゃれなデザインですね。
カボチャの顔もかわいく描いて、パーティで喜ばれそうなアイテムに仕上がっています。
Orange, green, and yellow.
There's also a color slit, it's fashionable!
She drew each pumpkin's face, they may be pleased at Halloween party.

はぁちゃんママによるカミキィ作品は、４月の「干支だるま うさぎ」以来のご紹介です。

定期講座の作品を３種類、ご紹介いたしました。
こんなご時世でも、私の講座を楽しみにしてくださり、交流の場を持っていただけるのは、本当に嬉しいことです。
少しずつ状況が良くなって、メンバーの皆さんがより安心して過ごせる環境になるといいですね。 
I'm happy that many people enjoy my class and interact each other, even the situation of COVID.
I hope the situation gets better, and everyone can spend time safely.

この日私は、皆さんの様子を見ながら別の作品を折っておりました。

ユニット折り紙「あさがお」、マーブルカラーでさりげなく。／Morning glory with marble colors

夏もあっという間に過ぎ去り、いつの間にか布団が恋しい季節になってしまいました。
長袖シャツを通り越して、コートを引っ張り出すようですね。
朝のコーヒーも、そろそろホットに切り替えないとおなかに悪そうです。
皆さんも風邪を召されませんよう、気をつけてお過ごしください。
Summer has passed quickly, and soon the season has come, that we always want to stay in bed.

Recently I even thought about preparing a winter coat. I take an iced coffee every morning, but I'll switch to hot one not to upset stomach.
And you, please be careful not to catch a cold.

さて、今日の作品は「あさがお」。
五角形のリングが青色、その中心が白色になるように配置を考えました。
三角錐のカドには、オフホワイトを。
全体的に淡〜い、砂糖菓子のような風合いに仕上がりました。

Today's model is "Asagao", morning glory.
I considered the placement that each pentagon is surrounded by blue and the center is white.
And ivories were positioned in each triangular pyramid.
Overall it became soft and sugar confection-like appearance.

一見すると普通の多面体ですが…
ほら、よくよく中心を観察すると、アサガオがぼんやり見えます…よね！？

At a glance it seems to be an ordinal polyhedron...
Here, when you observe the center carefully, you can find morning glories appear...can't you!?

出典は、布施知子さんの「はじめてでも組める くす玉おりがみ」です。
ユニット折り紙の入門書かと思いきや、そのバリエーションの多さにびっくり。

This model's reference is link above, written by Tomoko Fuse.
I thought that it was just for beginner, but I was surprised at the variation of Kusudama models.

ちなみに今回の素材は、上記の「ネモフィラ」と同じ、セリアの「マーブル」です。
ナチュラルな水色とアイボリー。
派手さはありませんが、優しく控えめな雰囲気がいい感じです。
実はネモフィラを作った当時、間違えて２倍の枚数を揃えてしまい、まるまる１玉分余ってしまったんですよね。
他に良いモデルがないかな〜と探して、行き着いたのが今回の「あさがお」です。

Today's materials are "Marble" sold at Seria store, same as Nemophila I mentioned above.
Natural light blue & ivory aren't flashy but gentle and modest, I like them.
Actually when I made Nemophila, I got the wrong number of petals and prepared twice, so papers just worth of one Kusudama left.
I was looking for something suitable model, and I found today's Asagao.

１：２の長方形を30枚ずつ、2色で60枚。
15cm×15cmを9カットして、それを2等分。2.5cm×5cmが、今回のサイズです。
かなり小さいですが、構造は意外と単純なので、慣れればサクサク作っていけます。

This model requires 30 rectangles (60 sheets in two colors) with 1:2 ratio.
We can prepare them if we cut 15cm×15cm square into nine and divide into two.
In this case, they'll be 2.5cm×5cm each.
The completed model seems to be quite small, but the structure is simple. So unexpectedly I could make smooth.

ベースはアイボリー、フェースは水色です。
朝顔らしく、白色のまわりを青いリボンで囲みたかったので、フェースは裏向きに作りました。
（表向きに作ると、青色の五角形＋白いリボンになります）

"BASE" is ivory, and "FACE" is light blue.
I wanted to surround white pentagon with blue ribbon. So I made FACE with the back side so that they would be a morning glory.
(If you make it with the original side, it'll be blue pentagon & white ribbon.)

フェースの工程3は、工程5で立体的な折り方をするための仕込みです。
コレがなくても、中心線を頼りにすれば結構正確に折れちゃうので、中〜上級者の方はスキップしてOKかと思います。
工程7では、ベースを組んでからタテに折ると、中心が浮いて引っかかるのを防げます。

Step3 in FACE is preparation of step5, three-dimensional folding.
If you're used to, you can skip this step because the center crease will be the guide.
In spep7, you should fold vertically after assembling BASE. If so, you can prevent peeling the edges and disturbing to insert the BASE.

ベースは、斜めに折るだけの単純なつくり。
フェースとベース、それぞれが半ページにおさまるのは素晴らしいですね。
2-3個作ったら、すぐに工程を覚えられました。折りやすいです。
ちなみに完成サイズは、直径６cmくらい。
作業机のお供にピッタリな大きさになりました。

BASE is simple structure that we just need to fold diagonally.
It's nice that FACE & BASE each part fits in one page.
I could memorize the whole process after making a few parts. It's kind for beginners!
The completed size is about 6cm in diameter. It may be suitable for your work desk!

ちょっと季節外れの「あさがお」。
布施知子さんのくす玉おりがみ、３個目のチャレンジでございました。

Morning glory "Asagao", though slightly out of season, how was it?
This was 3rd trial of Kusudama designed by Tomoko Fuse.

色の組み合わせ次第で、多彩な表情を見せてくれるユニット折り紙。
本作のような「２枚組」は、色を反対にするだけでも印象が変わりそうですね。
100均で買いっぱなしの絵柄があふれかえっているので、今後も楽しく活用できそうです。
（↑コレ、あるあるですよね！？）

Kusudama units show us various appearance depending on the combination of colors.
2 colors model like today's would change the impression just by switching.
I have an overflowing materials, so they can be used effectively.
(You also have a case like this, right!?)

蒸し暑い日々はどこへやら。
湿気で紙がたわむ心配も、手汗の心配もない、折り紙には良い季節です。
芸術の秋ですね。
SNSを彩る皆さんの作品を、今年も心待ちにしています。
Humid summer is passed and the season has come that we don't have to worry about papers wrinkle by humidity or hand sweat.
I'm looking forward to watching social media becomes brilliant by your Autumn works.

グラデーションが美しい、ちなちゃんの川崎ローズ／Colorful Kawasaki Rose folded by Chinatsu-chan

アトリエまさにぃへ、ようこそ。
Welcome to Atelier masanii.

黄色から濃い赤色に表情を変える川崎ローズ。
作ってくれたのは、定期講座のちなちゃんです。
この日は「川崎ローズだけ作る」と言って、一気に９個も折ってくれました。

Kawasaki Rose changing from yellow to deep red.
Chinatsu-chan in my class folded them.
"Today I'll make only this!" she said so, and made 9 roses at a time.

次々と仕上がっていく、カラフルな花々。
ハイペースながら丁寧な手つきは、さすが手慣れたもの。
外側のカールも綺麗に仕上がっていて、安定感もバッチリです！

Colorful roses were generated one after another.
She's used to make this model, so she could play not only quickly but also carefully.
Each outer petal curls moderately and has reliable stability.

素材はダイソーの「50色おりがみ」。
こんなに良いものが100円で手に入るなんて、いい時代になりましたね。
今回使ったのは、赤系と黄色系。他の色は、今後どんな風に生まれ変わるのでしょうか。

The material is "50 colors Origami" sold at Daiso store.
It has become a convenient age that we can get such a nice paper easily and cheaply.
This time she used red & yellow papers, I'm looking forward to seeing how other colors will change in the future.

ちなちゃんは最近、学校で川崎ローズを教える機会があったそうで。
講座の中で、「折り紙の教え方」に関する話題になりました。
「ここは（自分ではできるんだけど）どう教えたらいいの？」という感じ。

Chinatsu-chan had an opportunity to teach her friends Kawasaki Rose in her school.
Then in my class, she asked how to teach origami.
That is, "(Though I can do it alone) How do you explain this point?"

考えつく限りお答えしましたが、あの立体構造、なかなか教えるのが難しいんですよね。
私も、自信をもって説明できないポイントはたくさんあります。

I answered as many as I can think of, but it's pretty difficult to explain that three-dimensional structure.
I also have a lot of points that I can't verbalize in confidence.

どの作品にも言えることですが、教えるのは自分でやる何倍も理解度を深める必要があります。
結局はたくさん自分で経験して、試行錯誤するしかないのでしょう。
目の前で実演するのが一番ですが、実演＋説明の合わせ技なら、より多くの方のステップアップに貢献できる気がします。
「難しい作品をカンタンに教える」ということがサラリとできれば、カッコいいんですけどね…なかなか難しいものです。

That applies to all models, teaching needs much deeper comprehension than playing by myself.
After all, there's no choice but to experience and try&error on my own.
Of course it's best to demonstrate in front of students, but if I could both demonstrate and explain, I'll be able to contribute to improving skills of more players.
It'll be cool if I can explain any difficult techniques easily... But it's hard.

なお、ちなちゃんのご友人は、無事に川崎ローズを完成できたそうです。
私より圧倒的に経験がありますから、あれだけたくさん折っていると、私が思いつかない言葉も色々出てくるのかもしれませんね。
講師という立場で教室をやっていますが、こうして考えるきっかけができたり、新しい事を学んだりする事も多いので、とてもいい刺激になっています。

By the way, Chinatsu-chan's friends could complete Kawasaki Rose safely.
She's more experienced than I am, so she may come up with various ideas.
Although I'm running my class as a teacher, there are many opportunities to consider and learn new things. It's exciting!

先日立ち寄った足立区のCAFE RICCOで、佐藤ローズに一目惚れしたお客様がいらっしゃいました。
バラは未経験ながら、ぜひ自分でも折ってみたいとのこと。

The topic changes,
When I visited CAFE RICCO last week, a guest was very impressed with Sato Roses.
Though she seems to be a beginner, she wanted to make them by herself.

そう。
佐藤ローズに挑戦する前段階として、川崎ローズはとってもオススメです。
その方にも、お店にあった「折り紙夢World」を推しておきました。

川崎ローズの「五角形版」から裏側を折り返して、遠心中割り折りを組み込んだものがハイブリッドティーローズ。
少しずつステップアップして、綺麗なバラを折れる日が来るといいですね。

Actually, Kawasaki Rose is suitable for the pre-stage of Sato Rose.
I recommended her the textbook of Kawasaki Rose. (link above)
Hybrid tea rose is an advanced version of Kawasaki Rose.
I hope her to improve skill little by little, and can fold a beautiful rose someday.

【折り紙展示レポ】竹の塚図書館「CAFE RICCOの秋」、一年半ぶりのワッフルとコーヒー／Exhibition report "Autumn in CAFE RICCO"

今日は番外編です。

「CAFE RICCOの秋」に行ってきました！！
9月7日(火)から11月24日(水)まで、足立区 竹の塚図書館で開催されている企画展です。

I went to "Autumn in CAFE RICCO", the special exhibition.
That is being held 7 Sep(Tue) - 24 Nov(Wed) in Takenotsuka Library in Adachi-ku Tokyo.

入口正面のウインドウに飾られた華やかな作品たちは、圧巻の一言。
壁一面に広がるカラフルな折り紙の世界は、訪れる秋を歓迎するかのようです。

Gorgeous works displayed at the entrance are so overwhelming!
Origami world expanding to the entire wall, seems to welcome Autumn coming.

参加しているのは、
かおりんさん、ダイスケさん、Naoさん、それから私。
This project is joined by Kaorin, Daisuke, Nao, and me.

私は「ハリネズミ×11匹」「佐藤ローズ各種」「ローズ・ブーケ」「花折りピラミッド」をご一緒させていただきました。
ハリネズミは、この日のために量産した自信作です！

I provided there "11 Hedgehogs" "Sato roses" Rose Bouquet" "Flower pyramid".
Especially, Hedgehogs are my confidence works that made for this project!

先日の地震で一度崩れてしまったそうで、かおりんさんが直してくださいました。
綺麗に飾っていただき、ありがとうございます。

Although these exhibits were collapsed in the recent earthquake, Kaorin thankfully fixed them neatly.
I'd like to express my sincere gratitude for her.

展示を満喫したあとは、我らがふるさと「CAFE RICCO」へ。

On enjoying the exhibition, we visited CAFE RICCO, our "home".

コロナ禍でなかなか行くことができず、枕を濡らした日々。
前回の企画展「佐藤バラ園」以来、一年半ぶりの来店です。
より爽やかになったオーナー・ダイスケさんと、たくさんの折り紙たちがお出迎え。ただいま。

I was sad because we couldn't come to there due to COVID, it was a long awaited visit for the first time in a year and a half!
Daisuke-san, the owner who became more handsome welcomed us. And a lot of origami too.

おいしいワッフルとコーヒーを口にすると、足りなかった何かが満たされる感覚がしました。
コーヒーが飲めない妻は、オレンジ風味のハーブティー。こちらも絶品です。

Once I tasted delicious waffle & coffee, I felt something that I had lost was filled.
My wife enjoyed herb tea with orange flavor. This is also excellent!

今回の展示でCAFE RICCOを知り、その足でご来店された方もいらっしゃいました。
こうしたご縁、嬉しいですね。
There was a guest who came for the first time after appreciating our exhibition in the library.
I'm glad that such an interaction is born through this project.

で、今回の展示にお誘いいただいた張本人・かおりんさんは不在でした。
しかし…
お店を後にして、竹ノ塚駅周辺を散歩してから車に戻ってみると。
あれ。
RICCOに女性が入っていくぞ。

まさか…
いるではないかッ！！
帰りがけに思わぬ形で再会できて、嬉しかったです。
Unfortunately Kaorin-san, who invited me to this project, wasn't there.
However...
When we came back after taking a walk around Takenotsuka station...
I saw a woman entering CAFE RICCO.
Maybe...you're there!?

Bingo!
We were happy to meet her for a little while before returning!

ダイスケさんや常連さんにクッキーをプレゼントしてる女の子がいたり、昼休みに職場を抜け出した荒牧さんと偶然お会いできたり。
アットホームで暖かい、このお店の雰囲気が大好きです。
A girl treated some cookies to Daisuke-san and the regulars. And I could encounter Aramaki-san, the creator who came his lunch time by chance. And...
I love this homely & heartwarming cafe.

佐藤ローズの失敗から学ぶ、折り紙のテンポについて／The importance of rhythm learned from Sato Roses

今日は「佐藤ローズ」のご紹介です！
Today I introduce "Sato Rose" after a while.

ハイブリッドティーローズ。
素材は「ヴィヴァルディ・CANARY YELLOW（カナリアイエロー）」です。
ガーベラのようにほんのり暖かな黄色は、秋の晴れやかな気候にもピッタリ。
全体のバランスも、久しぶりにしては上手く仕上げられて満足しています。

"Hybrid tea rose", the material is Vivaldi "CANARY YELLOW".
The moderate warm yellow like a gerbera suits for these days' autumn sunshine.
I'm satisfied with the whole shape despite having a long blank.

出典は「一枚の紙から作る バラの折り紙」。
バラ折り紙のバイブルとして、世界中の愛好家から愛される名著です。
この本がきっかけで、折り紙にハマり出した方もいらっしゃるのではないでしょうか。
初めてご覧になったという方は、第２弾「美しいバラの折り紙」とともに、ぜひチェックしてみてください。

Textbook is the first works by Naomiki Sato, which is loved from origamist all over the world. (link above)
I think many players started origami with this textbook.

Yellow rose aside...

今日は「やっちゃった話」について、久しぶりにがっつり喋ります。
Today I'll talk about my failure earnestly.

何を隠そう。
佐藤ローズ、失敗しちゃったんですよね。
しかも、貴重な「ヴィヴァルディDARK RED」で。
I confess, I failed.
Worst of all, it was rare Vivaldi "DARK RED".

収束時に大きくバランスが崩れたまま、ど〜しても最後まで修正できませんでした。
写真ではそこまで目立ちませんが、実際に見ると結構キモチワルイんです。
「５箇所均等」が生命線の佐藤ローズなのに…

When I assemble it, the whole shape was terribly collapsed and I couldn't fix it until the end.
You may not be aware of its distortion in my photo, but actually it's unbalanced.
5 petals must be exactly equal and it's the most important factor...

原因は恐らく、作業をいちいち中断したこと。
工程1-14の仕込み×5箇所をイッキにやらず、1〜2箇所やったところで手を止めてしまったんです。
ちょっと時間をおいて再開したのですが、組み立ての際に歪みが発覚。何かがおかしい…

The cause was that I interrupted the process.
I stopped at 1 or 2 petals in step1-14, without doing all petals at once.
Though I resumed after a while, a  distortion caused when assembling. Something is wrong...!

テキストの指示以外にも、見えない所で微妙なライン取りがあったのでしょう。
５箇所一気にやると、無意識に折っているポイントが均等に繰り返されるので、「不思議と同じように」折れてしまうんだと思います。
逆に、一度手を止めてしまうと、その感覚が変わってしまう。
「小さな見えない誤差」が積み重なって、最後にブワッと崩壊したというわけです。
Probably, there might have been some hidden lines except textbook's instructions.
If proceeding 5 petals at once, we unconsciously repeat the same action equally, so each part is "curiously" folded in the same way.
In contrast, once it's stopped, our sensations are gradually lost.
"Little invisible errors" accumulated, it collapsed at last.

つまり。
綺麗に作るには、「テンポが大事」ということ。
手を止めず、躊躇せず、一気に作り上げること。
今までフワッとした理解でしたが、今後はちゃんと意識しようと思います。
漠然としてますが、今のところコレが最善の解決策でしょうか…

I mean,
Rhythm is especially important to make it well.
Not stopping your hands, with no hesitant, and process at once.
I had understood it vaguely, so I'll do consciously from now on.
Although these explanations are abstract, it's the best solution for now.

テキストで説明しきれない、微妙なポイントが多い佐藤ローズ。
私も含めて、苦戦する人が多いのもうなずけます。
Sato Roses have many subtle points which they aren't explained in textbook.
That's why most players struggle, so do I.

でも、こうした「不文律」がしっかり言語化できると、一皮むけるんですよね。
他の作品にも言える事なのですが、自分のやっている事を言葉で整理できると、他の人にも伝えやすくなります。
However, skills usually improve if we can verbalize these invisible points.
It's also same for other models, if you can express your action in words, your will reaches to other players easily.

「感覚に頼る技術」を、いかに客観的に表現するか。
長年のテーマなのですが、なかなか難しいものです。
How objective I can express the technique that relies on my sensation.
This is the policy that I've addressed for a long time, but it's pretty tough.

【至高のおりがみ】彩雲紙「大理石」で折るシロサイ。／"White Rhinoceros" with "Saiun Marble"

今日は「新世代 至高のおりがみ」より、宮本遼さんの「シロサイ」をご紹介いたします。
Today I'll introduce "White Rhinoceros" designed by Haruka Hashimoto, in New Generation of ORIGAMI.

上級者向けの作品がズラリと並ぶ本書の中でも、★★★★★（レベル５）のシロサイ。
工程数195の、なかなかヘビーな作品です！
面が広くシンプルな見た目とは裏腹に、中身は結構いじくり回されています。

This model is written as "5 stars (level 5)", in the textbook that includes many other difficult models.
Although the appearance that has wide surface seems to be simple, the inner structure is amazingly complex.

素材は「彩雲紙 大理石」。
便箋などに使われる厚手の紙です。
さりげないマーブル柄が、ざらっとしたサイの身体に合うかと思って、選んでみました。
サイズは、四ツ切（54.3cm×39cm）を正方形にカットした39cm×39cm。
推奨が35cm以上だったので、ギリギリOKかな…
と、見切り発車で折り始めるのでした。
しかし、それが苦難の始まりなのでした。

Today's material is "Saiun (Marble)", that is  often used for letter paper.
I chose this because the moderate marble pattern may fit with Rhinoceros skin.
Paper size is 39cm×39cm, that I cut 54.3cm×39cm rectangle into square.
Textbook recommended 35cm, so I thought it'll be Okey and started folding with overconfidence.
However, it was beginning of hardships...

さて、感想です。
一言でいうと…むずい。
作るのも、仕上げるのも大変でした！

Impressions.
In short, DIFFICULT!
It was hard not only to fold but also to shape it!

まず、サイズ。
推奨35cmで、39cmの厚紙を使うのは、ちょっと無理がありましたね…
だんだん、物理的に折れなくなっていきます。
パワープレイ（握力）で押し切りましたが、もっと大きさに余裕があれば良かったです。
でも、何とか破綻せず、それなりの形になったので満足しています。

First, paper size.
It was tough because I used 39cm thick paper, even though recommended size was 35cm.
Gradually it can't be folded physically.
I got over the processes with my grip strength, but I regret that I should have used larger paper.
However, I'm satisfied with the final shape without collapse.

身体のベースを作る工程26-50や、顔の細部を作り込む工程138-146など、所々でテキスト通りにはいかず、多くの妥協を残しました。
どうにもならない箇所は…ソレっぽく整形です！

Unfortunately I couldn't follow exact instructions and left some compromises. For example, step26-50 to make the body base, step138-146 to finalize facial details, etc.
Some parts which I couldn't make it well, but I managed to imitate the photos of textbook.

何とか最後まで進めたものの、全体の整形も予想以上に大変でした。
コッチの方が時間かかったんじゃないか…？
Although  I processed all steps with difficulties, to shape the whole body was more hard.
It took more times to do it.

今回の仕上げは、「水」と「ノリ」の合わせ技です。
I used "water" and "glue" in combination.

折り紙には、紙に水をふくませ、繊維をほぐしながら折る「ウェットフォールディング」という技法があります。
形を決めてから乾燥させると、折り目や自然な曲線を長くキープできる、画期的な方法です。
There's "Wet folding", the technique to fold while loosening fibers by moistening paper.
This is a breakthrough method.
When you dry it after fixing its shape, creases and natural curves can be lasted for a long time.

今回は、完成後の整形時に、湿らせた指でモミモミする「なんちゃってウェットフォールディング」。
それでも、胴体の丸みや顔の膨らみなど、なかなか満足のいく曲線を出すことができました。
どうしても開いてしまう両耳や脚などは、ノリの出番。
お風呂前や就寝前に固定しておくと、結構いい感じに乾くんですよねぇ。

This time I imitated Wet folding, that I kneaded some parts with moistened fingers after completion.
Even with these method, I could make satisfactory shapes such as roundness of torso, face bulge etc.
Ears and legs etc are inevitably unfolded, so glue played an essential role.
Each part dries moderately while bathing or sleeping.

テキストの見本とは遠いクオリティですが、豪快なデザインと彩雲紙の質感が調和して、石像のように立派な佇まいになりました！
苦し紛れな感じは否めませんが、満足です＼(^o^)／

Although my work is far fron textbook's model, it finished pretty fine that exciting design & Saiun texture are in harmony, and like a stone statue.
I'm satisfied while it may be makeshift(^o^)

You should get them without hesitation, when you find at paper shop!

とはいえ、あまり勿体ぶってもいけませんね。
良さそうな題材があったら、積極的に飛び込んでみようっと。

適度にリアルで、折り紙らしさが残るデザイン。
耳以外はペターンと平らになり、持ち運びやすさも申し分ない。
そして、あらゆる形で遊べる。
おまけに、どんな色でも素敵に仕上がる。

It's moderately real, and origami feeling design.
Most parts can be flatten, so easy to carry.
And we can play in any way.
In addition, any color patterns can fit!

ニャンコ折り紙、総合優勝。
もともとTwitterで拝見していましたが、こうして折り図化されるなんて夢のようです！

あまりにも最高なネコチャンに出会えたので、このままブログを閉じるところでした。
さて、作品の解説しましょ。
Meeting too great cat, so I was about to close an article.
Anyway, let's start explaining.

工程数は132。
うわ、結構長い…と思ったあなた、ご安心ください。
こんなに丁寧な折り図も珍しい！っていうくらい、一つ一つの工程が細分化されています。
立体的な折り方が出てくると、すかさず「途中の図」で中身の様子を見せてくれます。
これなら、長くなっちゃうのも納得です。
複雑系に慣れていない方も、じっくり向き合えば何とかなるでしょう。
上級者の方なら、気持ちよくサクサクと完成できるかと思います。
（そう、工程のテンポも気持ちいいんですよね！）

It has 132 steps. Though you might feel pretty long, don't worry.
Each instruction is precisely subdivided, that such a polite diagram is rare.
When there's three-dimensional technique, he immediately shows inside of the paper with "In progress".
In this case, I agree that it becomes long.
Even people who isn't used to playing complex works may be able to try if you process carefully.
If you're advanced or intermediate, can finish comfortably.
(Whole diagram is rhythmic & fun!)

もちろんテキストどおりに進めるのがベストですが、慣れてきたら自分なりに工程を並べ替えても大丈夫かと思います。
私は両脚を作る工程89-90と131を、いっぺんにやっちゃってます。
また、耳のうしろを折り込む工程129は、124or125の直後に折っています。
あとは、左右非対称のパーツがほとんどないので、反対側も随時パキパキ折っていけば、「反対側も●〜●と同じ」で戻らなくていいのでラクです。

Of course it's necessary to progress along the textbook, but you can swap some steps once you get used to it.
I conbined step89-90 & 131, where legs are formed.
And in step129, where the back of ears are folded, I do that ust after 124or125,
And there's almost no asymmetric parts, so you can skip the step "Repeat ●-●" if you work both side in advance.

それと、これも賛否あることを承知で申し上げますが、仕上げにはノリをがっつり使っています。
両耳、鼻のうしろ、両手両脚、おなかと背中、それからシッポ。結構入念にやりました。
誰かの手に渡っても長く形をキープできるのは、やっぱり接着するのが一番なんですよねぇ。
「ノリは邪道」という考えもありますが、私はそうは思いません。
手っ取り早く、難しくなく、誰にでも再現できる方法なら、躊躇なくやればいいんです。

By the way, though I think there are pros & cons, I used glue firmly to form the shape neat at the end.
Ears, behind nose, legs & hands, belly & back, and tail, I did carefully.
Some say to use glue is bad measure, but I don't think.
The most important thing is that it keeps an to original shape, even if it is given to others.
I do that without hesitation, if it's the best way that is easy and everyone can try. Don't you think so too?

推奨サイズは30cm。
ありがたい事に、ご本人のツイートで、サイズ別に仕上がりを比較してくださっています。

にゃんこの紙のサイズについて。
左から30cm、24cm、15cm、7.5cmの紙で折ってあります。
顔が折りやすいのは30cm、出来上がりが丁度いいのは24cm、コップの縁に掛けられるのが15cm、私が折れる一番小さいサイズが7.5cmです。

私が使ったのは、全て15cm。
定期講座で、ちなちゃんから綺麗な絵柄をたくさん貰っていたので、これらを使いたかったんですよね。

Textbook recommends using 30cm square paper.
Thankfully, the designer shows some size comparisons on his tweet (link above).
I used 15cm paper for all, because I wanted to use NICE pattern materials which Chinatsu-chan gave me at my class.

あらゆる絵柄でいい感じに仕上がりましたが、唯一ビミョーだったのが「ソフトハーモニー」。
忍者マスクみたいになってしまいました。
いや、コレはコレで良いのかも…？

Almost all patterns became good, however only "Soft harmony" wasn't very much. It's like a Ninja mask... But maybe it's also not bad...?

満田茂さんの「にゃんこ」でございました。
職場でも大人気で、ポイポイ配ると一瞬で枯渇する予感。
これは定期講座でもウケるぞ…
つまり、たくさん作れって事ですね。

I introduce"Cat" designed by Shigeru Mitsuda.
They were so popular in my workplace that I'm afraid they'll sold out soon.
I'm sure it'll also be welcomed in my class this weekend...
In short, I must make a lot!!

でも、ちゃんと作ると１匹１時間かかるんだよなぁ。
ガルボと交換にしようかなぁ。
However, it takes an hour to make one.
I wonder requesting some sweets...
