花粉や黄砂の煩わしさはともかく、過ごしやすい気候になりほっとしています。

I'm relieved that the climate has been comfortable, aside from the annoyances of pollen or yellow dust.
もうすぐバラの季節です。
先月、お馴染みのCAFE RICCOにて、かおりんさんからハイブリッドティーローズのアレンジを教わる機会に恵まれました。
昨年に教わった「花びらのカール」に加えて、今回は内部構造にも一歩踏み込み、より洗練されたデザインになっています。
ご本人には及びませんが、私にとっては大きな収穫です。
Rose season is coming!
Last month I fortunately had an opportunity to learn the deformation of Hybrid tea rose from dear Kaorin at CAFE RICCO.
This time I was introduced sophisticated design that also interferes with the inner structures, in addition to "Curl" I taught last year.
My works can't be better than Kaorin, but I got great insights!

ということで、持ち帰って何度かおさらいしてみました。
ハイブリッドティーローズをより優しく、たおやかに仕上げる「かおりんメソッド」。
（勝手に命名）
それでは、一つずつ紐解いていきましょう。
That experiences must be mastered, so I retried several times at home.
"Kaorin's method" finishes Hybrid tea rose gentle & sexy.
Let's unravel little by little...

さて、本編はハイブリッドティーローズ（以下ＨＴ）を折れる方向けの内容となっています。
折り方そのものを知りたい方は、考案者・佐藤直幹さんのテキスト「一枚の紙から作る バラの折り紙」をチェックしてみてください。

それでは、レポートです。
仕込みの大半は、通常のＨＴと同様です。
終盤の工程１６－１８、中心の穴の大きさを決めるシーンでアレンジが加わります。
テキストでは、ＡＢ間の１／４の地点で折りますが、かおりんメソッドでは、下のフチのすぐ上にある「遠心中割り折りの軸となるライン」を２等分する地点で折ります。
こうすることで花の中心が小さくなり、開き方が控えめになるんです。
うん、私の説明分かりづらいね。写真を見た方が早いです。
Now, let's explain each process.
After preparing creases like a normal HT, then go different way in step16-18 that decides center hole size.
In the textbook, creases are folded at the quarter point between A and B. On the other hand, in Kaorin's method, it must be on the half point between "centerline of arrowhead shape crease" and the lower edge.
In that way the center petal will be slim & modest.
次は、収束が始まる直前。
ここでは、
❶中心から外に伸びて、五角形のカドへ向かうライン
❷遠心中割り折りの根本から、内側へ伸びるライン
これらの平行線をナチュラルに繋ぐ必要がありますが、かおりんメソッドでは❷の上に中点❸をとり、❶から❸に向かって新しい線を引きます。
（❶❸❷の順に「く」の字を描くイメージ）
Next, before assembling.
In this step,
❶The line that runs from the center to the pentagon corner.
❷The line that runs from the bottom of arrowhead to the inside.
These must be connected naturally. In Kaorin's method, put a midpoint❸ on line❷, and draw a new line from ❶ to ❸.
ちなみに❸の位置を変えることで、収束時の中心の高さ（盛り上がり）を調節することができます。
外側に取るほど高く、内側に取るほど低くなります。
By shifting position of ❸, the height of center petal can be adjusted.
If you put outside, it gets higher.
If you put inside, it gets lower.
中心を開く際は、本来のＨＴより穴が小さいので少々タイトですが、ここは気合いで開きましょう。
爪楊枝などの極細ピンを差し込んでグリグリしつつ、徐々に太いものを突っ込んでいくと良いです。
While opening the center petal, it'll be pretty tight because the hole is smaller than the original HT. Do your best!
Insert something thin needles like a toothpick, and then thicker one little by little.
で、私は気合いを入れ過ぎて破れました。
皆さん、これは悪い例です！
しかし私は長年の試行錯誤の末、姑息なリカバリー方法を身につけています。
裏側からツンツンすれば、あら不思議。何事もなかったかのように穴が塞がりました！
接着しなくても、いらん事しなければバレません。
いやでも、貫通しないのが一番なんですけどね…これはこれで普通にショックです。
仕方ないので、次回への教訓とします。
By the way I torn. This is a bad example!
However I've already mastered a makeshift repairing method after a lot of practices.
Poking from the back side, it was curiously fixed! It doesn't need to glue and everyone can't find the scar.
Anyway it's the best way to make without tearing. I'll use these experiences as fuel!
次に、外側の花びらの折り上げです。
テキストの工程３０－３２にあたります。
上のフチと平行になるよう合わせるところを、かおりん版では上のフチとピッタリ重なる地点まで持ち上げます。
そのままでは物理的に上がりきらないため、「らせんの線」で折られた底部の折り目を外側にずらすのがポイントです。
Next, lifting the outer petals.
It corresponds to step30-32 in the textbook.
Originally place the petals along the upper edge in parallel. In Kaorin's method, bring to the point that overlaps on the upper edge exactly.
We can't do this in the original state, so shift the "spiral line" to the outside.
工程３６、いわゆる「ミカンの皮をむく」は、あえてスキップします。
花びらが根本から分離し、スカスカになる現象「扇風機」を防ぐためです。
でも、コレをしないと花びらの拡張が不十分になるのでは…
と、思いきや。
ここで前述３０－３２のアレンジが活きてきます。
「らせんの線」を逸脱してまで引き上げた花びらが、ミカンの皮むきを飛ばしたマイナスを相殺するレベルで、ボリュームアップに貢献していたものと思われます。
（かおりんさん、ここまで意識して伏線を張ったのでしょうか？だとしたら凄すぎる…）
Skip step36 on purpose. This is because to prevent each petals remove from the body.
You might think the petals can't be inflated enough without this step. However step30-32's deformation takes useful effect in this scene.
Lifted petals that gained at the cost of deviating from "spiral line" contribute to the increase in petals volume, at a level that cancel the decrease due to skipping step36.
(I wonder Kaorin predicted that!? If so incredible!)
さぁ、あとはかおりん名物の「花びらカール」です！（勝手に命名）
工程４２の中割り折りはスキップして、代わりにカドを大きく折り込みます。
工程３９をめくる際には、角度をきつく、タテに近い形で。こうすると反対側のカールと高い地点でアーチ状に繋がり、新しい花びらの頂点ができるんです。
Now this is "Curling" that Kaorin is good at!
Instead of skipping step42, fold the edges inward boldly.
In step39, fold angle must be steep. By that, it combines with the opposite petal like an arch and a new petal top will be appeared.
なお、これらのアクションは、ピンセットや丸ペンチなどを使うと綺麗にできます。

You can process them smoothly by using tweezers or pincers.

ここは両側からテンションがかかり、破れやすいので注意が必要です。

This step tends to be torn due to the tension from both sides, be careful.

これはもう、ごまかしようがありません。ご愁傷様です。でも全部見せちゃうのがまさにぃ流。
せめて撮影の際には、傷口が目立たないように隠しましょう…
I've done again...
This time I can't mistify. But I'll show all my performance even mistakes!
At least I'll take photos while hiding the scar.
悔しいので、もう一つ作って「清書」。
先程のは中心がかなり高めだったので、やや低めにしました。
破れないよう最新の注意を払って、 やっと満足のいくクオリティに仕上がりました！
It's regretting, so I tried again.
in the previous, center petal finished pretty high, so I made it low.
While being careful not to tear, finally it can be finished with satisfying quality!
ガクも作って、正式に撮影。
I took photos formally after making calyx.
やっぱりローアングルが映えます。
（相変わらず台所でやってます）
As I thought it suits well with low angle.
(As usual, I do that in the kitchen.)
次に、アクセサリーを主役にしてみました。
京都旅行の際に買った、嵯峩螺鈿野村さんのカフスです。普段使いしてます。
Next, I made my favorite accessories stand out. Cufflinks created by Saga Raden, that I bought in Kyoto. I wear them on a daily basis.
ハイブリッドティーローズ×かおりんメソッド。
新しい素材をたくさん分けてもらっているので、どんどん試してみたいところです。
テキスト通りに作るのも楽しいけれど、こうしたアレンジの引き出しが増えると楽しさ倍増ですね！

I have various materials that my friends shared me, so I'm looking forward to trying them someday.
It's fun to make rose along the textbook, on the other hand it's more enjoyable if we know how to add some ingenuities. Thank you Kaorin!
