今日の作品は「ロゼット咲きのオールドローズ」です。
Welcome to Atelier masanii.
Today's model：Old rose "Rosette".
ロゼット咲きとは、中央で密集した花びらが放射状に広がる咲き方のこと。
点対称に配置された花びらが、渦を巻きながら広がっていく様子は、まるで万華鏡を覗いているようです。
"Rosette" means that petals are crowded in the center and spread to the outside radically.
Point symmetrical petals swirl and expand, it's like a kaleidoscope.
中心にある「五つのスリット」に加えて、それを囲むように配置された遠心中割り折りを開くことで、さらに五つのスリットが生まれます。
この「ダブルのスリット」により、濃密な花芯が形成されるんですね。
内側から外側にかけて花びらが徐々に大きくなっていくのもロゼット咲きの特徴なのですが、それを絶妙なバランスで表現しているのも注目ポイントです。
In addition to five slits in the center, another layers are placed around it.
In this way "Double slits" shapes a dense petal.
About Rosette, petals gradually getting larger from the inside to the outside. This model realized its characteristic splendidly. It's worth noting!
その美しい構造ゆえに人気の高い本作ですが、なかなか複雑でデリケートな折り方が要求されます。
私もまだまだ研究中で、理想的な折り方を模索しているところなのですが…
このたび、５月１９日に佐藤ローズ本の新作が出るということで、ブームの再来に便乗してみました。
This is relatively popular because of its beautiful structure, but it requires pretty complex & delicate techniques. I'm still pursuing the ideal way.
Today commemorating to the publication of new Sato rose textbook on May19, I made rose after a long while.

一応申し添えておきますが、今回は工程３１を間違えて、ＨＴと同じ位置で折っちゃってます。
By the way this time I failed the process in step31 and folded at the same point as HT.
では、レポートです。
素材はタント赤系の３５ｃｍ。
完成サイズは、手のひらにスッポリ収まるくらいです。
Now, let's report.
The material is 35cm tant paper.
Completed size is just like fitting on my hand.
難所となる中心のスリットですが、これは佐藤直幹さんが後日談として攻略法を示してくれています。
工程３６で付ける「沈め折りのベースライン」の水平線を、さらに二等分の角度で折るんです。
Processes to make "Five slits" will be difficult, but now Mr. Naomiki Sato shows an effective method.
Halve the angle between horizontal line folded in step36 and the edge.
この線を頼りに中心を沈めると、キレイな星型が現れます。
When sinking along the line, an exact star shape will appear.
あとはテキスト通りに収束するのみ。
といっても、ロゼットの収束は「初見キラー」と名高い挫折ポイントです。

中心構造をキープしたまま時計回りにねじり、周りを巻き込みながら小さくしていくイメージです。

After that, assemble along the textbook.
However , the assembly in this model is notoriety difficult.
I left some pictures on my blog, fefer to them if you need.
Twist clockwise while keeping the central structure, and minimize the whole while involving the surrounding areas.
あ、ちなみに
また中心やっちゃいました。笑
でもロゼットは完全に隠れるからオッケー！

In this model the center will be hide and it's no problem!
で、収束後にスリットを開くのですが、ここで前述の「星型」が活きてきます。
従来のやり方と比べて、格段にやりやすいのです！
When opening "Five slits", the aforementioned "Star shape" will be helpful.
It's far easier to shape than the original diagram!
さて、次に工夫したのが底の折り込みです。
工程５５〜５７の方法ではかなりの厚みが出てしまうので、ＨＴと同じ要領でギザギザを作ったあとにカドを折り込む、といった手順をとりました。
まぁまぁ高さが出ちゃうんですけど、厚みで紙が歪むよりはマシかな…と考えての判断です。
Next, I devised to the bottom.
It will be thick in step55-57's method, so I processed in the same way as HT and folded each tip inside.
In this case it becomes pretty tall, but better than wrinkles.
工程６６の中割り折りは、全体のシルエットを丸〜く仕上げたいので、奥まで折らず曲線的にしました。
Inside reverse fold in step66, I kept curvilinear state without folding all to shape the whole silhouette fluffy.
以後は、まさにぃのアレンジです。
ロゼットはこのへんでビリッとやっちゃうリスクが高いので、細心の注意を払いつつ進めていきます。
鋭角が多いシャープな内側に対して、外側はふんわり。曲線メイン＋ボリューム感を意識しました。
真上から見て「円」になるようシルエットを整えたら、できあがり！
After that, I devised shaping most petals.
This model has a risk that the petals are torn, so we must take care in steps around here.
Steep & pointed petals inside, in contrast, fluffy ones outside that I shaped with full of curves & voluminous in mind.
After adjusting the top view to be circular, it's completed!
うねるように弾む花、その中に眠る控えめな桜模様。
開花を待つ睡蓮のようなムードを演出…できてたらいいな。
Undulating outside petals and a humble blossom inside, lotus who waits for spring...
I wonder I could have created such a mood.

ロゼットを折るのは久しぶり…と思って調べたら、最後の記事が２０２０年５月１日。
つまり、まるまる３年のブランクでした。
そりゃまぁ、苦戦するわけです。
I made Old rose "Rosette" after a long time. While thinking that, I went back through my past post, the last one was May 1st. There was exact three years blank period.
It's natural to struggle!
「佐藤ローズといえばＨＴ」と言った感じで、何かとＨＴばかり折っていた気がしますが、やはり他の作品も魅力たっぷりですね。
モデルが違えば、求められる技術や仕上げのセンスも変わってきます。
今後も色々なチャレンジを通じて、スキルアップを重ねていきたいと思います。
I often made Hybrid tea rose as if the typical Sato rose is always HT, but all the way the other models also attractive!
Different models change the required skill or shaping sence.
I'd like to improve through various challenges from now on!
