今日はイベントレポートです。

Today I'll show you an event report.
横浜の神奈川県立青少年センターで開催された「子どもフェスティバル」にて、折り紙のブースを出させてもらいました！
実に3年ぶりの開催、こうしてお呼びいただき嬉しい限りです。
予約制の導入や衛生管理など、スタッフの方々は本当に大変だったと思いますが、おかげさまで楽しく１日を過ごすことができました。
I was invited an event held at Kanagawa Prefectural Youth Center in Yokohama.
It was the first time in 3 years, I'm pleasure that I could come back again!
Adopting reservation system, taking care of hygiene management, staffs might be so hard. Thanks to them, I enjoyed a lot!!
また、当日来てくれたボランティアさん、定期講座のメンバーの方々には、本当に助けられました。
個人プレーでは到底乗り切れなかったでしょう。この場を借りて御礼申し上げます。
タケルくん・ひろみさん、素敵な参加賞もありがとうございます。
Volunteer staffs and my origami class members helped me. It would never have succeeded without them.

今回、私が準備したものは…
うさぎ年ですから、やっぱりウサギでしょう！
お正月にも紹介した「伝承ウサギ」を、たくさんの人に知ってもらおうと画策しました。

I prepared "Rabbit" commemorating the zodiac!
I adopted traditional model that I introduced on new year's day.
とはいえ、伝承ウサギは鶴の基本形ベースの立体作品。
小さなお子さんや初心者には少々難しいかと思い、できる限り入念に準備をいたしました。
However, this model must be started from "Bird base". It'll be difficult for little children so I prepared thoroughly as much as possible.
で、当日を迎えてみたら。
そこはアドリブ全開、波瀾万丈の折り紙テーマパーク！
The day has come.
Unexpected thing happened one after another!

では、準備から当日まで一気に振り返ります。
Now, let's start reporting.
想定人数は、１０人×３コマ＝３０人。
つまり人数分の紙を用意すればいいのですが、問題は１コマ３０分という時間設定です。
この時間で伝承ウサギを最初から作るのはリスキーなので、あらかじめ鶴の基本形まで仕込んでおきました。
さらに、１５ｃｍだと結構小さくなるので、２４ｃｍをチョイス。
これなら、お子さんも安心です。
I expected 10 participants × 3 lessons = 30 sets, but I have only 30 minutes for one lesson.
It'll be unsafe to make rabbit just in that time, so I prepared the "Bird base" in advance.
In addition, I chose 24cm square papers instead of nomal 15cm, because completed size will be quite small. By these measure children can play relatively smoothly.
実は３５ｃｍも買っておいたのですが、さすがにデカ過ぎるので却下。
これは講師の実演（お手本）専用として働いてもらうことにしました。
そう、単色５０枚入りの折り紙には色々なサイズがあるのです。
I also prepared 35cm, but it's too large and didn't adopt. Instead, this material was helpful to demonstrate for the participants.
Actually monochromatic color origami has various sizes!
今回は、新しいグッズも用意してみました。
「中割り折り」「かぶせ折り」のサインです。
伝承ウサギは、基本形以後の大半がコレなので、しっかりレクチャーしてから始めようというわけです。
ちなみにキーワードは、
○中割り折り→鶴の首
○かぶせ折り→フードをひっくり返すように
といった表現で説明しました。
This time I tried to use some new ideas.
Two signboards that explains "Inside reverse fold" and "Outside reverse fold".
The traditional rabbit requires these processes frequently, so I planed to start after lecturing that.
And I explained like this.
○Inside reverse fold → Crane's neck
○Outside reverse fold → Flipping the hood
効果のほどは…
う〜ん、まぁまぁです。
ないよりは良い、という感じ？
どちらかというと、後ろで見ていた親御さんの方に理解してもらえたので、お子さんと一緒にやっていただけました。
Finally it worked so-so, better than not doing.
The parents could understand that rather than kids, so I urged them to play together.
そして、切り札はコレ。
折り線をマジックで書いておき、折る箇所を明確にしたアイテム！
これで中割り折り・かぶせ折りはお手のもの！！
In addition, I prepared a special item.
Visualized crease by drawing the essential lines in advance!
Reverse fold will be so easy just only using this!!
が、しかし。
出番はほとんどありませんでした。
残念ッ！！！！
見せた瞬間の、リアクションの微妙さたるや…
折ったばかりのお手本に、その場でペンを入れて見せた方が好評でした。
アシスタントの方がテーブルに１〜２名付いてくれたので、彼らの実演を見てもらいながら、何とか乗り切ることができました。
However, he played a role little.
That's a pity!
Poor audience reaction at the moment that I showed this item...
It was better received to draw a line on the demonstrating model just before folding, than the method above.
Thankfully some assistants were at each table and show the processes, so most participants could do it.
最後の「耳」ですが、立体的にカーブさせる構造は説明が難しかったです。
花弁折りの要領の説明や、スタッフの実演でもピンとこない方向けに、後ろに折るだけの「簡略版」を急遽採用いたしました。
これは結構アリかと。
今思うと、耳の上側を丸めても良かったですね。
Making ears, it was difficult to explain the structure that curves in three dimensions.
I came up with simple ears that complete just only being folded backwards.
It'll be useful for all ages!
It may be better to round the upper side.
ちなみに小さいお子さんには、伝承ウサギの代わりに「おりがみ４か国語テキスト１００」のミニウサギを採用。
おめめや口をカキカキして、楽しんでもらいました。やっぱりお絵描きは好評です。
For little kids, I prepared simple rabbit, instead of traditional one.
Drawing eyes or mouth, they enjoyed a lot.
また、予定していたコマ以外の時間も来てくれる方がいたので、ゆるっと折り紙タイムを過ごしてもらいました。
節分でおなじみの 「つのこうばこ」を作ったり、紙ヒコーキを飛ばしたり。
Tatsumiさんの「デジタル数字」も大活躍です。
予定以上にたくさんの方にご来場いただき、賑やかな１日となりました。
And more, many people came outside the scheduled time. So we spent origami time freely.
Making "Star shaped box" or Airplane, and "Digital Numbers" designed by Tatsumi was also well received.
More people joined than expected, it was so lively day!

この日はボランティアで参加してくれた３名の学生の方が、子供たちとい〜感じに接してださり、とても良い雰囲気を作ってくれました。
このイベントはジュニアリーダーの方々が主体的に運営していたので、彼らのＯＢ・ＯＧだったのでしょうか。
私も地元で同じような活動を１０年ほどやっていましたが、彼らのようには上手く立ち回れなかったでしょう。
This time three youth staffs joined, interacted with kids and made a friendly mood.
I've experienced similar activity for 10 years in my hometown, but I wouldn't have been able to act like them.
彼ら自身も折り紙に興味を持ってくれたのも、嬉しかったです。
バラを折りたいとのことだったので、タケルくん・Keikoさんと一緒に川崎ローズに挑戦。
大人のスタッフも巻き込みつつ、バラ講座の開講です。
仕込み、ねじり折り、らせんの展開やカーブの成形…
初めての動作に苦戦しながらも、しっかり完成させることができました。
次は佐藤ローズ、もしくはアジサイ折りも…
期待が膨らみますが、押し売りしたらいかんですね。あくまでも、ご自身の趣くままに。
I also felt happy that they were interested in origami.
They wanted to make rose, so I lectured them "Kawasaki rose" with Takeru & Keiko.
Joining adult staff, now let's start the lesson!
Preparing creases, assembling central spiral, opening petals, and shaping natural curves...
While struggling with some complex actions, they could complete with no mistake!
Although I wonder next they'll challenge Sato rose or Hydrangea in the future... It should not be forced, depends on their will.
それともう一つ。
ご年齢を伺いませんでしたが、１０代くらいの女性の方がいらして、「皆が知らないものを折りたい」とのこと。
色々検討した結果、布施知子さんの「アマリリス」を気に入ってくれて、６個組（キューブ）に挑戦することに。
緑和柄のベースに黄緑色のフェースを合わせたら、世界で一つのユニットキューブの完成です！
ブースの一角で、最後まで根気よく丁寧に作っている姿が印象的でした。
Another topic!
A teenager girl came and asked me "I want something unique".
After considering, she found "Amaryllis" designed by Tomoko Fuse and liked it, so I made her challenge with six units.
Attaching light green face with green traditional patterned base, the only beautiful cube in the world has completed!
I impressed her earnest attitude that making carefully and patiently till the finish.
イベント全体としては小学生や親子が多かったのですが、こうして１０代・２０代の方も折り紙を楽しむ時間を持てたことは大きな収穫です。
Overall there were many kids & parents relatively, but it was also meaningful that teens & twenties had opportunities to enjoy origami.

２０２３年最初の大きなイベントは無事終了！
講座運営に関しては個人的な課題が残りましたが、この経験を活かして次に臨みたいと思います。
My first event in 2023 has finished!
Points that I must improve have left, so I'll keep in my mind as precious experiences for the next.
おまけに、いつも出張講座に行く時の準備セットをチラ見せ。
これは折り紙とギャラリー用の作品、各種小道具など。
このほか、大量のテキストや参考資料を箱いっぱいに詰め込んで、どこにでも行きます。

As a bonus, I'll show you my goods at the usual origami event.
These are works as exhibition and some tools.
And more, I always prepare a box filled with many books and documents.
