しつこい梅雨はどこへやら、日傘をしないと丸コゲになりそうな天気ですね。
換気すると一瞬でリセットされるエアコンの冷気が惜しい、今日この頃です。

Rainy season has gone far away, it's extremely hot that we'll get sunburned terribly without any measures.
These days cooling air is wasted soon once we ventilate.

定期講座は、今も月２回のペースで何とか続いています。
私の講座が数少ない外出の機会になっている方もいるようで。
楽しそうに世間話をしているメンバーを見ると、人との交流がもたらす潤いを実感します。

My Origami class is held twice a month.
Some say these are precious opportunities to go out. I realized that the interaction empowers people, when members enjoy talking.

そんな時、大体の人は手が止まっているんですけどね。
まぁ、いいんです。
While talking, most people stops playing.

さて、お次は定期講座の様子。
Ｔさんが持ってきてくれる季節の作品を、ホワイトボードに飾るのが毎回の楽しみになっています。
花火に屋形船、賑やかな夏の海…
それぞれの作品が本当に丁寧で、メンバーの皆さんも感心しきりです。

Next, recent my Origami class.
T-san brings & displays his wonderful seasonal works every time.
Fireworks & houseboats, lively summer sea...
Each work is really elaborate and members are impressed.

ちなちゃんは、佐藤ローズにだいぶ慣れてきた様子。
目標だったハイブリッドティーローズ、さすがの仕上がりです。
花びらの曲線や全体のシルエットは、折り手によって個性が出るポイントですよね。
私には出せない、柔らかな丸みが印象的です。

Chinatsu improved her skill for Sato rose.
She can already make Hybrid tea rose, it has been her long-awaited goal!
Petal curves or overall silhouette are unique to each player, and her soft appearance can't be copied by me!

みはるちゃん・さゆりちゃん。
どこで覚えてきたのか、次々と新しい作品を見せてくれます。
ふっくら尾羽の折り鶴は、和柄との相性もバッチリです！
妹のさゆりちゃんも、折り紙×お絵描きをエンジョイ中。かわいい作品をお披露目しては、みんなを和ませてくれます。

Miharu & Sayuri continuously make new cheerful works.
Crane with plump tail suits colorful patterns!
Sayuri enjoys Origami & painting, she shows CUTE items and makes us peaceful.

早起きして遠方から来てくださるKeikoさん。
ハートのバラは、皆さんへのプレゼントに大好評。
あじさい折りも上手で、発展系の作品にも挑戦されていました。
佐藤ローズも相変わらずお上手で、ちなちゃんと私に新しい素材を分けてくれました。
い〜い感じの色と質感、乞うご期待。

Keiko wakes up early and comes from afar.
She presented "Rose in heart" to the members and everyone pleased.
She's also good at Hydrangea and shared us new materials.
It's great, stay tuned.

そうそう。
最近は作品づくりに加えて、プチ撮影会がひそかなトレンドになっています。
元々私がブログ素材を撮るために始めたのですが、iPhoneを手に入れたちなちゃんも一緒にやってくれるようになりました。

By the way.
These days some members hold photo session, not only folding.
Originally I was taking some photos for my blog, Chinatsu got iPhone and joined.

日当たりが良い部屋の一角に、大きめの紙をスタンバイ。
大量に買い込んだヴィヴァルディや彩雲紙が、ここでも活躍しています。
角度や陰影、全体の構図を写真に収めたら、アプリを使ってモリモリ加工をしていきます。
When preparing large paper in sunny spot, and adjusting the shadow, angle, the whole balances, shoot and process the image.
We often use Vivaldi or Saiun papers which I bought in bulk in the past.

ちなみに私がブログに載せている写真は、ほとんどが同じ方法で撮られたもの。
同じ作品でも、違う人が撮ると風合いも変わるのは、私にとっても新鮮です。

It's interesting that if the other person take the same model, the appearance is different.

ここではお伝えしきれない作品の数々と、対面ならではの楽しいコミュニケーション。
消毒や換気、何かと気をつかうご時世ですが、できる限り続けていきたいものです。
Many works that I can't introduce here, and happy interaction unique to face-to-face.
Although we must take care of disinfection or ventilation, I continue my class as much as I can.

スキルアップを重ねる皆さんに取り残されないよう、私も腕を磨いていきたいと思います。
I have to improve not to be left by skilled members!

【折り紙講座レポ】図書館の夏休み企画、親子で季節の作品づくり！／Origami event at public library

今日は、図書館で開催されたイベントの様子をお届け。
夏休みの親子向け企画として、久しぶりに講座のお誘いをいただきました。
最後にやったのはコロナ前、実に３年半ぶりの開催です！
こうしてご縁が繋がること、大変嬉しく思います。

Today I'll show you an event report held at the public library, as a family-friendly summer event.
I was invited for the first time in 3.5years, I'm pleasure that the bond lasts!

今回の題材は、
❶月刊おりがみの「かきごおり」
❷Tatsumiさんの「デジタル数字」
こちらの２本立てです！
それでは、早速レポートしていきましょう。
（お顔の掲載については、全て保護者様の承諾をいただいています）

「季節の作品」というリクエストにお応えして、夏の風物詩「かきごおり」をご用意。
月刊おりがみ504号（2017年8月号）の掲載作品です。
The organizer requested "Seasonal origami works", so I prepared "Shaved ice".
This is listed in Monthly ORIGAMI magazine No.504(Aug.2017).

お配りしたのは15cm×15cmでしたが、私の実演は見やすいように35cm×35cmを使いました。
この方法は好評でしたので、今後も採用です！
Though I distributed 15cm×15cm papers, I demonstrated using 35cm×35cm so that the participants can easily understand.
This method was well received, so I'll continue to use it!

この作品は「氷」「器」をそれぞれ１枚で作るので、色をチェンジして遊べるのが嬉しいポイント。
最初に１つ完成させたあとは、もう１セット作って、さらに家族で交換して…
たくさんのバリエーションを楽しんでもらいました。

In this model, "Ice" and "Bowl" are each made of one square paper. So it can be played by changing colors. Great!
When one is finished, make another, and exchange among families...
They enjoyed various patterns.

次は「氷」のアレンジです。
色のついたところをカットしたり、カラーペンで具材を追加したり。
それにしても、皆さんのアイディアの豊富さには脱帽です。
「この発想はなかった！」という驚きの連続でした。

Next, modifying "Ice".
Cutting the colored area, or adding ingredients by colorful pens...
Anyway, I was surprised by their AMAZING ideas that I didn't realize!

切り絵でキラキラを表現してくれた女の子。
とろ〜りシロップを見事に切り抜いてくれた男の子。彼は器の段折りを増やしまくって「無限ギザギザ」を作る強者でした。
氷に顔を描くだけでかわいいキャラクターになるのも、新しい発見でした。
さらに図書館のスタッフさんが「絵柄モノ」を用意してくれて、いっそう賑やかになりました。

A girl expressed twinkle stars by cutting out.
A boy splendidly cut & made syrup. And he did an outstanding work "An endless pleats" at the bowl.
In addition, the library's staffs prepared origami with various patterns, so they became more gorgeous!

みんな予想以上にサクサク進むので、大幅に時間が余ってしまいました。
そこで急遽登場したのが…
Tatsumiさんの「デジタル数字」です！

They proceeded too speedy, unexpectedly much time was left.
So I suddenly decided to suggest "Digital Numbers" designed by Tatsumi!

上下２つのパーツを組み合わせることで、０〜９すべての数字を自在に作れる優れもの。
・超簡単
・何色でもOK
・組み替えて遊べる
・そのまま飾れる
・用途は無限
・平面なのでかさばらない
挙げたらキリがない魅力の数々。
以前Tatsumiさんから直接教わり、一目惚れした作品です。
図書館スタッフの方が、私の過去記事をプリントしてくださいました。

This is the masterpiece that we can make all numbers freely by combining two identical parts.
・Very easy
・Suitable for all colors
・Recombinable
・Easy to display
・Unlimited usage
・Flat and easy to store
It has countless charm.
Tatsumi taught me how to make it, and I was fascinated.
This time the library's staff printed my past blog.

皆さんもすぐに折り方を覚えてくれて、色々なパターンを試してくれました。
「帰って作ってみよう」
「◯◯さんにも教えてあげよう」
と、反響も上々。
かきごおりを凌ぐほどの好評ぶりです。
次の講座でもやろうかな…

Everyone could understand and remember the all steps, and tried various patterns.
"I'll make again at home"
"I'll show & tell my friends"
Reaction was pretty good.
It might be more popular than Shaved Ice.
I want to introduce this model also next time.

この日は8組・21名の方にお越しいただきました。

やっぱり、対面講座はいいですね！

This time 8 families, 21 participants have  joined.
Unfortunately everyone weared mask and I couldn't see their face, but I I could see their smile.
I was empowered by the participants enjoyed summer activities.
After all, I like face-to-face class!

純国産「小川和紙」でつくる極小佐藤ローズ／Sato rose with washi paper

アトリエまさにぃへ、ようこそ。
Welcome to Atelier masanii.

今日のテーマは「和紙×佐藤ローズ」。 
折紙講師講習会でいただいた「小川和紙」と、ハイブリッドティーローズの融合です。

Today's topic is "Washi paper & Sato rose".

さらりとした質感と、無添加ならではの色味が印象的な天然素材。
実習で使い切ってしまうのかと思いきや、おみやげとして持ち帰れることに。
カバンにしまう前から「白いバラを折ろう！」と心に決めていました。

Additive-free material that has silky texture and natural color.
I thought we'll use up at the lesson, but we could take them all as gifts.
I decided to make white rose at that moment.

全てのパーツを同一色で揃えたのは初めてだったのですが…
石像のような硬質感とアイボリーの暖かみ、それに佐藤ローズの柔らかな曲線が、ほどよく調和してくれました。

This is the first time that I make all parts with the same color...
Hardness like stone statue and ivory warmth, and soft curves by Sato rose were moderately in harmony.

サイドからの一枚もお気に入り。
まっすぐ背筋を伸ばした細身のシルエットが、白い背景によく映えます。
ひんやり張り詰めた感じがたまりません。

I also like its side view.
Tall & slender silhouette suits the white background.
Icy tensioned atmosphere, it's cool!

台座に選んだのは、伊豆旅行の際に立ち寄った「黄金崎クリスタルパーク」のおみやげ。
ガラスの透明感が、白いバラとよく合います。
こういう無駄のないデザイン、意外と貴重なんですやよね。
大きさもピッタリだったので、衝動買いしてしまいました。

The vase I chose is the souvenir that I found at "Koganezaki crystal park" in Izu.
Coolness of glass suits white rose.
Such a simple design is hard to find and the size was perfect, so I bought on impulse!

それでは、制作レポです。
貰ったサイズが15cm×15cmなので、コレで全てのパーツを作らなければいけません。

Now, let's report.
There're only 15cm×15cm square papers, so I had to make all parts out of them.

ハイブリッドティーローズの推奨サイズは25cmですから、40%のサイズダウンとなります。
ビビっていても仕方ないので…強行突破です！

Originally Hybrid tea rose is made of 25cm, so it's 40% smaller.
Don't hesitate, just do it!

やっぱり細かくて大変でしたが、和紙特有の耐久性はさすがです。
爪楊枝やペン先などの小道具を、心置きなく使うことができました。
As expected it forced me hard precise work, durability unique to washi paper helped me.
I can use props such as nib or toothpick without hesitation.

あとは、いかに「５箇所均等」をキープできるか。これは私のウデの問題です。
事あるごとに手を止めて、微調整（という名のゴマカシ）が必要でした。

On the other hand, how I keep uniformity at five areas, it depends on my skill.
I had to stop the process and adjust frequently.

見る角度によって形が変わるので、完全均等にはなっていないものの…
完成後の整形を頑張ったら、何とか綺麗にまとまりました。

Flower shape changes depending on my viewing angle, so it couldn't be perfect...
After shaping, it became pretty good.

仕上がり時の直径は4cm弱。
いつもの25cmで作ると6.5cmになります。
もちろん理論値どおりなのですが、このギャップは数値以上に大きく感じます。

The completed size is 4cm or less in diameter.
If I make it with 25cm, it'll become 6.5cm.
Of course it's according to the theory, but I feel the difference more than numerical value.

とはいえ、今回のように薄い素材であれば、これくらいのサイズがちょうどいいでしょう。
佐藤ローズは厚めの紙で作らないと、ペラペラして安っぽく見えてしまいます。
紙を小さくすれば相対的に厚みが増すので、違和感なく仕上がるわけです。

Although, such a thin material should be applied small size like today's case.
Sato rose tends to be cheap unless made of thick paper.
If the paper is smaller, thickness increases relatively. So we can complete naturally.

いや、分かってるんだけどさ。
分かってるんだけどね。
むずいのよ…
I know these things...
However...
Difficult!!!

ガクと葉のサイズは、花に対して3/5の比率、つまり9cmです。
これはまぁ、何とかなります。

Caryx & leaves are made of 9cm paper, at a rate of three-fifth of flower.
These are not so difficult.

今回は葉を５枚そろえて、より本物のバラらしく仕上げました。
前回までは３枚しか作っていなかったのですが、５枚あった方が本来の構造に近づきます。

Today I made five leaves so that it be real rose.
Since last time I've made only three leaves, but it's closer to the real to make five.

ワイヤーは、セリアで見つけた茶系のものを採用。
緑色でも良かったのですが、和紙の色がアイボリーを帯びた白色なので、同系色で合わせると統一感が出ます。

I adapted brown wire which is sold at Seria store.
The green one is also fine but it's better to use brown because the paper is white with ivory.

ワイヤーの繋ぎ方は前回同様。
ノリを使わず巻き付けて、テープで被覆しないまま露出させています。

初めての素材に、初めてサイズ。
新しい挑戦が詰まった「和紙のバラ」、大いに楽しませていただきました。
New material, new size.
I enjoyed Washi-rose, with various fresh challenges.

定期講座の皆さんはどんどんレベルアップしていくし、SNSを覗くと毎日のように新作が誕生しています。
芯が変わらないのは大切ですが、同じ事ばかりやっていても、成長を感じる喜びは味わえませんね。
熟成と挑戦、どちらも楽しみたいものです。

These days I feel my class members have improved their skill, and social media shows me amazing new works everytime.
It's important to keep a belief, on the other hand, I won't be able to get a joy of improvement if I repeat making the same works.
I'll enjoy both practice & challenge.

青＆黄色の佐藤ローズ、図らずもウクライナカラーに！／Origami rose for Ukraina

前回に引き続き、佐藤ローズのアレンジメントをお届けいたします。
I'll show you Sato rose arrangement, continuing the last post.

落ち着いた大人の青色「AZURE BLUE（アジュールブルー）」
初夏にふさわしい黄色「CANARY YELLOW（カナリアイエロー）」
２色のヴィヴァルディによる、ハイブリッドティーローズです。
偶然なのですが、ウクライナ国旗と同じ青×黄色の組み合わせになりました。

Calm and mature "AZURE BLUE"
Smells like Summer "CANARY YELLOW"
"Hybrid tea rose", made of different colors of Vivaldi.
Unexpectedly they became the same color as Ukrainian flag.

青いバラには、くすみ系のモスグリーンを。
黄色いバラには、ミカンの葉のように新鮮な緑をチョイスしました。
素材は安定のタント15cmです。
トーヨーの製品は同系色だけで12種類あるので、目移りしちゃいます。
（特定のカラーが余るのはここだけの話。）

I applied moss green to the blue one, and fresh green that is like an orange leaf to the yellow one.
The material is 15cm Tant paper.
In this package, there're 12 different colors and sometimes it's hard to choose.

作品のお供は、ロイヤルコペンハーゲンの絵柄が入ったクッキー缶。
たまたま出かけた先で、一目惚れして買っちゃいました。
（もちろん中身も美味しくいただきました。）

The vase is cookie can with the pattern of Royal Copenhagen.
I happened to find it and bought on impulse.
(Of course I tasted a lot.)

If you want to know how to make calyxes and leaves and to attach the wires, refer to my past post. (link above)
今回は茎をマスキングテープで養生せず、むきだしのままにしています。
ワイヤーと葉の色がまぁまぁ近いから、違和感ないだろうということで。
This time I left the calyxes exposed, not covering by masking tape.
The colors of wires and leaves are similar, so I thought there may not be unbalanced.
テープなしで葉をしっかり固定するため、貫通させたワイヤーの先端を多めに余らせておき、葉っぱの根元に巻き付けています。
（見た目以上にパワープレーです。）

To fix the leaves firmly without tape, in advance, keep more wire that is penetrated, and coil it around the root.
(I did it forcibly more than it looks.)

これには意外なメリットがありました。
根本を押さえたことにより、葉っぱの中心にあるプリーツ（曲線の段折り）が開かなくなったんです。
ノリを使うと、乾燥に時間がかかったり、シミになったりするんですよね。
これは嬉しい発見でした。
やや浮き気味ですが、それも許容範囲ということで。

This process brought an unexpected benefit.
By fixing the roots, the central pleat has stopped unfolding.
If I use glue, it takes time to dry or causes stains.
So this is a breakthrough discovery.
It leaves slight gap but acceptable.

缶にセットする際には、ダイソーのスポンジクッションを隙間なく詰め込みます。
いくらでも入っちゃうので、やめ時が分かりませんでしたが…
パッケージの半分強を使ったところで終了、完成です！

To set in a vase, I fill the inside with sponges which are sold in Daiso store.
They can be inserted endlessly so I didn't know when to stop...
I stopped when I spent half of the package, completed!!

佐藤ローズのブームが再来している今日この頃です。
ほとんど手を出さなかった「花全体」のアレンジメントですが、回を重ねるうちに抵抗が薄れてきた気がします。
未知なる世界への第一歩は腰が重いものですが、「えいっ！」と踏み出してみると、その先は意外と明るかったりするんですよねぇ。

Recently I'm absorbed witn Sato rose.
I haven't play the overall arrangement of rose, but now I can do it without hesitation.
The first step to the unknown field may look heavy, but once you jump in, the view will be clear.

ここ最近、色々な方から魅力的な素材をたくさんいただく機会がありました。
どれも15cmなので作品を選びますが…
バラやあじさい折りに最適なものばかり！
皆さんにお披露目するのが、今から楽しみです。
These days I have many opportunities to get various stylish papers from my friends.
Each is 15cm×15cm so model to fold is limited...
All of them will be suitable for Rose or Hydrangea!

その中でも人気の高い「ハイブリッドティーローズ」です。
Sato rose, the masterpiece of origami rose.
This is the popular one "Hybrid tea rose".

妻が通っているピアノ教室の先生へ、日頃のお礼としてプレゼントしたもの。
いつもは花単体しか作らないのですが、今回は奮発して「一輪挿し」のフルセットをこしらえました。

My wife goes to the neighborhood piano class, so I presented it to the teacher, with my gratitude.
I always make only flower & calyx, but this time I made a push and prepared the whole & vase.

こういうアレンジは得意な方ではないのですが…
気に入ってくださり、そのまま飾ってくれたと妻から聞いて安心しました。

Originally I'm not used to making such an arrangement, but I heard she was impressed and displayed it immediately, I'm relieved.

今日はせっかくなので、全体のプロセスをざっくり追いかけてみましょう。
Today I'll track the overall processes briefly.

まずは、花本体。
素材はヴィヴァルディ「ROSE PETAL」。
適度な厚みとコシの強さが特徴です。
柔らかいピンク色が、佐藤ローズの構造美を引き立てています。
ベースは、25cm×25cmの正方形を五角形にカットしたもの。

First, flower.
The material is Vivaldi "ROSE PETAL".
It has moderate thickness and durability.
Soft pink increases the structural beauty of Sato rose.
I cut 25cm×25cm square paper into pentagon.

次に「ガク」です。
素材はタントの15cm。
これも五角形にカットしてから始めます。
花にスポッとはまるように、中央の沈め折りは深めにやっておくのがコツです。

Next, calyx.
The material is 15cm×15cm Tant paper.
This is also started from pentagon.
You should fold "Open sink" deeper to fit the flower.

それから「バラの葉」。
ガクと同様、タントの15cmです。
三角形がベースなので、正方形を斜めにカットして使います。
先端の葉は15cmですが、両脇の２枚は小さい方がキレイに見えそうなので、12cmにカットしました。

Leaves are made of Tant paper, same as calyx.
They start from triangle.
Top leaf is made of 15cm×15cm, the other two are 12cm, so that the whole shape looks slim.

最後に「茎」となるワイヤーです。
それぞれの葉に、ヘアピン状に曲げた先端が裏面に来るように突き刺します。
キュッとひねって根本を固定したら、３つの葉を束ねてねじり、本体と合流させます。
ワイヤーの色が不釣り合いなので、マスキングテープでまきまき。

Finally, stem.
Penetrate a wire through each leaf, so that the tip (bend like a hairpin) appears on the back.
After fixing the joint by twisting, bundle three leaves and twist, and combine with the main stem.
Wire's color looks unbalanced, so I wrapped the masking tape.

縦長の容器にストンと挿せば…
はい、一輪挿しの完成です！

Hybrid tea rose is quite difficult, but worth challenging!

実は３年前にも、同じ素材でハイブリッドティーローズを折ったことがありました。
当時の写真と今の写真、比べてみましょう。

I've made this model with a same material three years ago.
Let's compare today's one with the past.

３年前のものは、中心がやや陥没気味ですね。
今回のものは、中心がキュッと上がりつつも、ふっくら丸みを帯びています。
当時はそれでも満足のいくクオリティでしたが、こうして比べると違いが分かりますね。
The past one, the center looks a little depressed.
Today's one, the center is moderately inflated and rounded.
In the past I was satisfied but now I'm realized the difference by comparing.

この「陥没」を解決する方法は、２年前の記事で解説しています。
収束時に、中心が外側より高くなるよう微調整できるんです。

佐藤ローズ×折り紙シャツの共演。／Motch's shirts met Sato rose

今日は、前回紹介した「シャツ」の別バージョンです。
白地にダークシルバーを添えて、大人な雰囲気に仕上げてみました。
絵柄モノも良かったけれど、モノトーンもアリですね！
細部まで考え抜かれたデザインが、いっそう引き立ちます。

Today I'll show you "Shirt" that is different from my previous post.
I made it elegant by adding dark-silver to white.
Previous wrapping papers were nice, but a monotone pattern like this is also good.
Thoroughly considered design stands out even more.

今回の目的は「佐藤ローズ」とのコラボ。
きっかけは、前回の記事を投稿した直後のことです。

ご本人からのリクエスト。
やるっきゃない！
ということで、コラボしました。

Request from the designer himself!
There's no choice!
And I did it.

使った素材は「玉虫紙」。
元旦にお披露目した「トラ」のあまりものです。
長方形から正方形にカットした際の切れ端を、有効活用させてもらいました。
真っ白じゃないけど、まぁ良しとしましょう。

The material is "Tamamushi (Iridescent)", that is the surplus when I make "Tiger" in new year.
I used cut-off piece effectively that I cut rectangle into square.
Though it isn't pure-white, it's Okay!

今回のトライでは「仕上げ」に関して新しいことが分かりました。
In this attempt, I got some findings about "Shaping".

まず、未解決だった「左右の重なりに高低差が出る問題」。
これはモッチさんからInstagramでコメントをいただいたのですが…
前立てを整える際には、
「内側に新しい折り筋を入れて、胸元を少し外側へ開く」
とのこと。
概ね、私が推測した通りで安心しました。
First, "A problem that there's a height difference between both sides".
Motchi replied me on Instagram, that when you shape top center pleat,
"Fold the chest outside and open by making some creases inside"
My guess was mostly correct.

それから「首のうしろを立てる」という仕上げ。
ここはあまり強く立てるのではなく、両脇を肩にかけて斜めに折る（曲げる）ことでナチュラルになります。

Next, shaping that "Raise back of the neck".
At this point it"ll finish naturally by folding (bending) the both side diagonally towards the shoulders, instead of raising firmly.

また私見ですが、
工程38は、厚みで紙がクシャっとなるくらいなら、無理に付けなくてもいいかと。
ただし、ここをスキップする代わりに、工程41-42でしっかり形を整えてあげる必要があります。

And this is my personal view,
In step38, you don't have to fold if there's a risk that the paper is wrinkled by its thickness.
However, instead of skipping this step, you have to shape firmly in step41-42.

At this opportunity, I'll introduce co-actors of today's photos.
Flowers that my wife grows every morning.
・Carnation
・Spray mum
・Sea holly
・Witchgrass
・Baby's breath
・Stemona

これらは、定期的に数種類のお花が届く「ブルーミー（bloomee）」というサービスのもの。
うちのプランは1,265円/回、2週間に1回の頻度で利用しています。 

These are delivered by "bloomee", that offers several kinds of flowers regularly.
We use the service for ¥1,265 once every two weeks.

私が作る花はもっぱら折り紙ですが、本物の花は生命の息吹を感じられて良いですね。
色や形、風合いなど、毎回違った花が届くので、いつもリビングが新鮮な雰囲気に包まれています。
妻も新しい趣味が増えたようで、お花のある生活をエンジョイしています。
Flowers I make are only origami, but the real ones make me feel breath of life, I like it!
Color, shape, or mood, different flowers come everytime, so our dining room is always fresh.
My wife enjoys a new pastime, life with flowers.

プレイヤー同士でも気軽に情報交換できるようになったのも、嬉しい変化ですよね。

Without spread of social media, there wouldn't have been an opportunity to interact with creators like this.
And we can exchange information easily among players all over the world, this is pleasant change too.
What a thankful era!

個々のスキルアップだけでなく、ふとした瞬間に新しいアイディアが生まれたり…
周りで起こる化学反応を見聞きするのも、日頃の楽しみだったりします。
There're not only  improvement of personal skill, but also coming up with new ideas at an unexpected moment.
Watching various chemical reactions that occurs in the surroundings is also my recent pleasure.

折紙探偵団マガジン190号の掲載作品です。
Today I introduce is "Shirt" designed by Motoo Ohguchi, listed in Origami Tanteidan Magazine vol.190.

袖口をチラ見せする畳み方…
そう、売ってるまんまの形です！！！

It's folded while the cuff glimpses
Yes, that's same as an appearance sold in store!

一体どこからこんなアイディアが湧いてくるのでしょう。
えぐい複雑系より、こういう絶妙にユニークな作品の方が興奮します。
I wonder why he comes up with such an idea.
I'm excited about unique works like this, rather than highly complex models.

エリ・前立て・袖口には紙の裏面が当てられ、お洒落なアクセントカラーになっています。
よく見ると、袖口の「剣ポロ」まであるという芸の細かさ。粋ですねぇ〜。

Back side of a paper is assigned to collar, top center pleat and cuffs, and they're in the role of fashionable accent colors.
Oh, there's "sleeve placket" on the cuff. Stylish!!!

単色はもちろん、どんな絵柄でもイケそうだ！
ということで。
家中の包装紙をかき集めて、色々なバリエーションを作ってみました。
This model may suit not only single colors but also any patterns, so I tried  various wrapping papers.

さて、制作レポです。
工程数は６０。
一つ一つの動作が丁寧に描かれているので、必然的に長くなるのでしょう。
無理に短くすると、複数の動作が同時進行になったりするので、かえって難度が上がっちゃうんですよね。
こうした方向性の配慮、Tatsumiさんの「にゃんこ」を思い出します。

Now, let's report.
This model has 60steps.
You may feel it pretty long, but it's unavoidable because each step is described in detail.
If the process make short forcibly, it contraly be difficult.
The kindness like this reminds me "Cat" designed by Shigeru Mitsuda. (link above)

前面に色が出るのは、どの部分かな？
と思って、完成後に一度バラしてみました。
（緑にペイントしたところ）
包装紙などの絵柄モノを使う際、参考にしてみてください。
観音開き構造なので、写真と完成形は左右逆になります。
※写真のものは工程13のラインが数ミリ間違っているので、現密には下端の位置が少し異なります。（詳細後述）

I disassembled the completed model to analyze which spot is assigned to the front color.
(Green zone in the paper)
You can refer to it when using something patterns.
Completed model and the above photo are reversed because the structure is "double door".
※Strictly speaking, lower end of the green zone is little wrong because I misunderstood Step13's line a few millimeters. (I'll explain later)

そして、カンの良い方ならお気付きかと思いますが…
これ、紙の対角線がオモテ側に出ないんです。
つまり！
包装紙などの長方形を正方形にカットする際、よく端から三角形（45°）に折ることで幅を定めますが、この跡が残らないんですよね。
これは地味に嬉しいポイントです。
And you may be able to find that the diagonal creases of the original square don't appear on the surface.
When I cut a rectangle such as wrapping paper into a square, I often adjust by folding at 45 degree angle from one end.
In this model, the creases mentioned above are hidden.
This characteristic is sober but notable point.

サイズは15cm×15cmでも可能でしたが、首まわりや袖口の厚みを考慮すると、大きめの方がいいでしょう。
包装紙のような大判サイズはもちろん、17cm〜18cmでも大分やりやすくなります。
（写真は15cm×15cmで折ったもの）

You can make it by 15cm×15cm paper, but larger one is better considering the thickness of neck and cuffs.
Of course wrapping paper it suitable, and it becomes much easier even 17cm〜18cm.

続いて、工程ごとのレポ。
■工程4・12
この折り込みで中心に厚みが出るので、タテに分断する際は、一度バラすとキレイに線を付けられます。
具体的には、工程8・9・13・16・17をバラして折りました。
もちろん最終的には戻して折り直すので、折り筋どおりに畳めない時は、揉み込んで微調整しましょう。

Next, each process.
■Step4・12
These steps cause thickness in center.
When folding vertically, disassemble it in advance, you can make creases firmly.
Specifically, step8・9・13・16・17.
Of course it must be refold. When you can't fold along the creases, adjust by kneading & pressing.

■工程4・9・12
ピッタリでなく、すこ〜し控えめに折ると重なりが相殺され、後がラクになります。

■Step4・9・12
You'd better to fold modestly short rather than fitting to the crease.
Surplus edges that may stick out of layers are offset, and you can proceed easier.

■工程22-38
左右同時進行でもイケます。
途中でお互いが微妙〜に干渉しますが、浮かせれば大丈夫。
■Step22-38
You can proceed both side at the same time.
Sometimes they interfere each other, but it's Okay if you lift the other side.

■工程41-42
この「ひっくり返す」シーンは、工程34-35の重なりが逆転しないよう、ご注意ください。
逆転すると重なりがバラけて、そのまま畳むと首のうしろが浮きます。
工程35はエリの形を決定づけるだけでなく、34のストッパーとしても機能していたんですね。
■Step41-42
This process "Turnover", be careful so that Step34-35 layers aren't reversed.
In that case they will be separated, and if you proceed in that state, back of the neck will be peeled off.
Step35 only forms the neck shape but also works as fastener of Step34!

■完成後
首のうしろを根元から立ててあげると、首まわりがナチュラルに仕上がります。
シワになりやすいですが、両脇から揉み込むと、曲線を付けやすいですよ〜！

■After completion
If you stand the neck from the root, the surrounding area will become more natural.
It tends to be wrinkled, but kneading from both sides, you can make natural curve.

次に、個人的な注意ポイント。
（単に私の不注意で見逃しただけですが…）
Next, some important points I personally felt.
(They're simply my mistakes!)

まず、工程13で折るラインは、紙の中心ではありません。
中心より少し下、工程8のラインに合わせて折ります。

First, Step13's line is NOT the centerline of a paper.
It's slightly below the centerline, and you must fold along Step8's crease.

それから、何回か工程33をすっ飛ばしてしまいました。
忘れるとエリが太くなり、内側との密着度も下がります。

And I sometimes skipped Step33.
If forgetting to do it, collar becomes thick and leaves form the inner.

結果的にどちらも致命傷にならず完成できたのですが、何ともお恥ずかしい。
皆さんも、お気をつけくださいませ。
（こんなミスするの、私だけ？）
As a result, neither case was a serious mistake, but embarrassing...
Be careful not to do such a thing.
(It's only me and no worth worrying!?)

もう一つ、これは未解決な課題なのですが…
完成後の整形で、左右で重なった前立てが、片方だけ高くなっちゃうんですよね。
私は対症療法として、内側に新しい折り目を入れて開いたり、胸元を外側へ折ったりしています。
構造上やむを得ない気がしますが、スッキリ仕上げる妙案があれば、ぜひお寄せください。
This is an unsolved issue...
About shaping after completion, one side of the top center pleat tends to rise, because of their overlapping.
As a symptomatic treatment, I open by making some creases inside, or fold the chest outside.
Although I also think it's structurally unavoidable, if you have any solution, let me know!

折紙探偵団マガジン190号より、大口素男さんの「シャツ」でした！
ずっと折りたかった作品なので、折り図化してくれて本当に感謝です。

I've wanted to play this model for a long time, so I really thank him to publish a diagram.

憧れの作品の折り図化・書籍化はファン待望の喜びですが、それに費やされる労力はどれほどのものでしょう。
クリエイター本人にはもちろん、編集者・出版社にも心より敬意を表します。
Publication of diagram or textbook of longing model is a long-awaited pleasure. However, I wonder how much effort is spent for them!
I must pay a great respect not only to the creator, but also editor & publisher.

せめてもの御礼として私ができることは、楽しく折って、写真を撮って、作品の魅力を発信すること。
その結果、作家さんの人気が高まったり、書籍が売れたり、フォロワー同士の交流が活発化したり…
微力ではありますが、私の記事が、作家さん・プレイヤー双方のモチベーションに繋がれば幸いです。
The only thing I can do is playing happily, taking photos, and expressing the charm of Origami works.
As a result, creator's popularity is increased, their textbooks sold, interaction among my followers become active...
Though my influence is few, I'm happy if my activities lead the motivation for both creators & players.

ありふれた題材から、毎年のように斬新な作品が生まれてくるのが不思議でなりません。
一生かけても折りきれない、作品の数々。

It's beyond understanding that innovative works are generated continuously, from ordinary common models.
There're countless models that I can't complete all even for my lifetime.
